Blob Fish (aka Gunner) (Neutered) (In Foster to Adopt) Labrador Retriever Marietta, OH

Blob Fish is a cute 5-month old male Labrador Retriever mix puppy who was brought to the HSOV on March 1, 2024 by a Good Samaritan who had found on Harmar Street in Marietta Ohio on February 28th. Blob Fish was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped.

This little sweetheart has a black short smooth coat with a large patch of white on his chest, white paws on his big paws, a long tail, and a precious puppy face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose on his chubby muzzle, and extra-large ears.

Blob Fish has a happy, fun-loving personality and is full of playful puppy antics. He was a delight to photograph when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver spent time with him on a bright sunny afternoon on March 3rd for his photo session. Blob Fish epitomizes the phrase 'happiness is a warm puppy', and he was in seventh heaven with Emily who let him play to his heart's content (and also snuggled him in her arms).

Blob Fish weighs 35.2 lbs so he will likely be a fairly large boy when he reaches maturity. He is temporarily being listed as a 'Special Needs Dog' since he will be examined by one of our wonderful local veterinarians in the near future for a (possible) minor prolapsed rectum. He doesn't appear to have medical issues, but he will be checked out by a veterinarian just to make sure.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Blob Fish will be held for three days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.

Since he was not reclaimed, Blob Fish underwent surgery to repair the prolapsed rectum on April 3, 2024 and the surgery was successful. Blob Fish has recovered nicely. He was also neutered on April 3rd and given rabies vaccine.

UPDATE: Blob Fish went home with a foster family on April 27, 2024 who plans to adopt him if all goes well.
