Blitz Pit Bull Terrier Mix Minneapolis, MN

Hi, I’m Blitz! A 5-month old, 30 lb (for now), puppy ball of playful energy and cuddles. I’m a lanky guy growing into my long legs and excitedly and adorably learning life. Although I have typical puppy spurts of energy, my foster describes me as surprisingly very chill! With a short walk and a chance to run around the backyard, I'm golden.

Some helpful things to know about me:

I love to play with other dogs and am ready for any dog to be my friend, but may be a bit much for an older and/or chiller type. I imagine canine siblings could be a good fit if they’re a fan of me.

I haven’t spent much time with cats, but have met cats and didn’t show any signs of concern or harm toward them. With my age and temperament, as well as slow introductions, I likely could co-exist, and maybe even be good friends with a cat if we click!

I haven’t spent time with kids but would likely do well. I have typical puppy behavior to grow out of so keep that in mind.

I’m typically used to being in my crate when left home alone and although I’m not super excited about it, I'll settle in when you guide me. I may get a bit vocal when you’re gone though and when I welcome you back or when I see a dog outside and get into puppy-play-mode, so shared walls would require factoring this in (e.g., would I see a lot of dogs when you’re gone?).

As for potty training, this one is a work in progress as I’m still getting familiar with my foster home and general dog life. I tend to want company when I go outside to do my business and currently use puppy pads but may refer the tile floor. Luckily, I mostly avoid the carpet. With consistent training and a bit of time to settle into my environment and routine, I’ll become the most behaved me I want to be.

Although I’d likely do well with or without a fence, I currently am used to a fenced yard but when I’ve gotten out the front door or ahead of my foster I’ve typically responded well and would likely do great with basic recall training.

As a rescue pup still learning my confidence and independence when left alone, I prefer a home where I can get to hangout with you or other people throughout the day. What will you get for welcoming me into your family? Joy daily.

The adoption fee is $550. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
