Meet Biscuit
Meet senior lady Biscuit! She is a 9 year 10 month old Shih Tzu and weighs 17 lbs. She is looking for a special forever home to spend her golden years in.
Biscuit came to us from a large scale breeding operation in October. She was born there and spent her entire life until that point not being accustomed to human interaction outside of being bred. She also came to us heartworm positive and with a tickborne disease. She has recovered from both and is ready to find something she has never had, a family of her own.
Her foster family has had a slow and long process at gaining her trust. But she has made a lot of progress! Even though she is still a bit wary when it comes to physical interaction, she becomes more used to it the more it occurs.
What she does not shy away from are her doggy brothers and sisters and most definitely food. She lines up with the other fosters for treats and will let you know when you are being a tad bit slow on getting her food. She also does great quality work when it comes to making sure no one's food bowls are left with a speck of food left in them.
As you may guess when looking at her eyes, she has limited sight and requires drops twice a day for chronic dry eye. Biscuit also has limited hearing. While having her senses impaired, this lady still has years of life and love to live.
She would do best in a home without small children and one that has a lot of patience and love to give a senior lady who has lived almost her whole live without either. Daily one on one interaction is a must for this little girl as she will regress into her old, shy and scared self that she became due to years of trauma. This doesn't require a lot, just being near her, bringing her onto the chair or couch with you does wonders for her heart and confidence.
If you think your family and home are a good fit for what this deserving lady needs, you can apply to meet / adopt her at www.muttmisfits.com/adoption-application
Biscuit is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
