Mo training mo progress! Biggie Smallz (est dob 09/23/23) is learning to be a big brave boy and we’re so proud of him.
Biggie has always been a superstar in the house. He’s crate trained, house trained, and shows no separation anxiety. He loves (LOVES!) other dogs and does well with cats if they are willing to put up with his bold puppy like mannerisms.
At times we see some fearful behaviours when Biggie is outside the house or too much comes at him too fast. We were a little concerned at first, but we put him in an experienced foster home with another dog and some trainer support and he is rocking it! Being around other dogs is really helping him figure out how to “dog” and he is living his best life. He is exploring trails, crossing busy streets, and doing long walks to the park to play with his buddies.
In the right home, Biggie would be a pretty easy keeper. If you have a moderately quiet house/neighbourhood and a confident dog in the home, you’re halfway there. We’d ask you to work with a trainer to continue his confidence-building as he enters adulthood, but he’s doing so well that we’re really optimistic that he’s going to make an awesome family pet.
Biggie would not be a fit for a condo or busy downtown neighbourhood. He likes people and children but would get overwhelmed in a very busy home with a lot of people coming and going.
He would make a great addition to a home with a dog (or a couple dogs) if there’s anyone reading who would like to build up their pack with a fun-loving teenager!
