Bessie #7 Yellow Labrador Retriever Mix Killingworth, CT

Bessie #7 is 2 years old and 40 lbs. She is very sweet and easy going. Bessie was in a high kill shelter when we rescued her. She gets along well with other dogs. April 17, 2024 Update from Bessie's Foster Mom: "Bessie is adorable, super sweet, and loves to cuddle. She’s great with dogs of all sizes, ignores the indoor cats, and showed no interest in the barn cat that meowed at her as she was walking by. Bessie has wonderful house manners and is crate trained, although she doesn’t need to be crated. Fireworks and thunder don’t bother her, she sleeps through it all. She is great with kids, takes treats extremely gently, and has no food or toy aggression. Bessie’s new family should understand that she can be timid and shy when meeting new people and in new situations. She rides great in the car and walks well with the help of a Harness Lead. She is being fostered with other dogs and loves playing with them. Bessie has medium energy and would love a home with another playful dog and a fenced yard."

ADOPTION FEES: $495 non-refundable adoption fee for all vet expenses (spay/neuter, shots, etc.) and transportation to ensure your lab gets to you in a safe, professional manner. All fees may be paid using PayPal, cashier's checks, or money orders. Labs4rescue does not accept personal checks for adoption fees. All adopters must pay their Labs4rescue adoption fee prior to the rescue shipping their dog.

Residents of Massachusetts or New Hampshire are required to pay an additional $125 fee, which defrays the cost of their state's mandatory 48 hour isolation and examination by a licensed veterinarian.
