Meet Ben

Ben is a tricolor Pembroke Welsh Corgi that is a bundle of happy energy. He loves to run, fetch sticks, play with his toys and hop up on laps. He is very receptive to training and is eager to please. One of his favorite games is toss and catch. He tosses a toy up in the air and you catch. You toss and he catch? He is working on it. He is quick to learn. Sit, down, paw, other paw, leave it, off, catch are all skills he has learned with the short time he has been in his foster home.

He likes to run fast, leap far, and chase critters that do not have permission to be in the yard such as squirrels, chipmunks and birds. And for those pesky deer on the other side of the fence -- drooling at the tastiness of your Daylily buds? Ben says, "Not so fast. This is my yard! Woof woof!! And stay out of my neighbor's yard, too!" Ben is all puppy!

Ben is house trained and crate trained. He is eager to meet new friends. He likes to make friends with cats, but they do not always like his persistent attempts at friendship. He likes human companionship, and will plop his awkwardly long body on your lap, but he isn't a cuddler. Ben had a bit of a rough start in life. Unfortunately he was in several homes before he came to us. He never received appropriate training or socializing. Ben needs to be the only dog in the household. Although he plays well with the neighbor dog outside, he doesn’t want to share his family.

A fenced yard is a must, because running the yard is one of his favorite things to do. The more room to run, the better. Ben is neutered, chipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. Ben is 18 months old.
