Meet Bella

Bella is a beautiful 4 year old Cockapoo waiting for her forever home.
She came to us a few months back when her owners had to move out of the country unexpectedly. They were not able to bring her along.
Bella has come a long way since first coming into our care. We learned that her previous owners did not socialize her or take her outside for walks. Everything was quite overwhelming for this little dear but she has gained a lot of confidence thanks to the patience and hard work of her foster mom.
Bella would do best in a quiet and calm adult home. Her adopters must be willing to continue with Bella’s training and build her confidence.

Bella’s foster mom shares the following update:

Bella is a little Cockapoo who was not well socialized when she came to us. I have been so proud of her growth over
the last few months. Bella is living in a very busy, dog filled neighbourhood that has helped support her socialization. She is less bothered by the loud traffic noises like garbage trucks and
all the people rushing about but still barks at times. She loves her walks in the park and ravine in her neighbourhood.

She is good with slow and gentle meet and greets with other dogs although she still reacts to other white haired female dogs.

Bella is definitely a one of a kind dog who would do well in a home with an adopter who works hybrid or part time at home. Bella has been on the subway and the bus; she is getting more comfortable and is calm in my lap. She is potty trained and responds well to treat training.
Bella will at times guard toys, treats or other random items. I avoid giving Bella Kongs or other food related toys.

Bella has a lot of potential and would do well with an adopter who has experience with dogs. Bella takes time to warm up but when she does, she will come for cuddles and snout scratches. Bella is a very special and deserving girl. She will bring a lot of happiness to her adopter.

Bella is starting to show a more playful side - chasing a ball and playing hide and seek.

Bella must be walked on-leash at all times. Due to her anxiety she is a flight risk. She is best suited to a home with a safely fenced back yard. She is not a dog for the off leash park.

Bella will at times guard her food and toys. She will usually trade for a high value treat but she could not be trusted with children.

If you feel you can give Bella a safe and loving home please see the adoption information and application on our website: www.adoptadogsavealife.com

*** We will continue to update Bella’s bio as we learn more about her.

Bella is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines. She weighs 14 pounds.
Her blood work is good and she is negative for heart worm and tick borne diseases.

If you feel you can give Bella a safe and loving home please see the adoption information on our website (www.adoptadogsavealife.com).
Our adoption process includes an online application, a telephone interview, a home visit (virtual and/or in-person) and reference checks. An adoption fee of $450.00 applies.
Bella is in a foster home in Toronto.
