Beautiful Boyd! Australian Shepherd Alexandria, VA

Boyd is a beautiful black bi Aussie with a natural half tail. He is about 2 years old and 50 pounds. He is such a gentle love bug! He wants to be near his people all the time and will lay down across your lap for belly rubs. He is also house trained.

He has a working coat that is very shiny and easy to manage if you brush him regularly. He loves laying on the sofa and playing with squeaky toys and really enjoys wrestling with his foster sisters. He is also pretty gentle with the smallest of the bunch, a 4 month old mini Aussie who is only 8 pounds.

Boyd is pretty easy going and enjoys walks but will probably need some leash training. He is medium energy level but would gladly take a long walk with you. He isn’t much of a barker and hasn’t shown the slightest inclination to counter surf but is definitely curious about all the smells of people food.

He is very food motivated and may guard his food around other pets but is not aggressive at all. He will stay in a crate if necessary but prefers to be with the rest of the pack. He loves playing outside in his backyard and knows how to sit, and has learned how to shake but probably will need some work on his recall.

Boyd’s ideal home would have a nice yard or place to run and play and a playmate if possible. If you need a sweet and cuddly buddy in your life that just gets along with everyone he would be just right.
