Meet Beau

Beau is a beautiful Aussie Shepherd / husky mix puppy new to our rescue. He came to us from an unwanted litter situation.

Beau is approximately 8 weeks old and weighs about 10 pounds. (Birthday approx. February 1st 2024)
He is a very friendly puppy who loves to cuddle with anyone he meets! He is playful, curious and full of endless puppy energy!

Beau's adopters must be prepared to keep him busy with lots of daily exercise, stimulation and socialization. He is very smart and responds well to praise and treats. He is already learning to sit for treats! Beau is good riding in the car.
Puppies love to chew and Beau is no exception. He enjoys playing with toys so he is easily redirected. (He has the typical sharp puppy shark teeth!) He is already learning to play fetch.

Beau’s foster home has someone home during the day so he has not been left alone. They are working on crate training but he has a way to go. He has just started to settle down after a few minutes but keep in mind, puppies need frequent bathroom breaks.

Beau is not old enough to be left alone for long hours during the day. Puppies need ongoing care and Beau goes outside every few hours to reinforce housetraining. His adopters will have to continue with this training, it is going to be a work-in-progress for a while. Beau gets lots of positive training and consistency in routines.

Beau is an Aussie Shepherd / Husky mix and will likely be a very large and very active dog when fully grown. Beau is really enjoying playing outdoors and gets very excited for yard time and walks. He is fairly confident in new areas so leash walking is off to a good start. An adopter with a house and a safely fenced back yard is recommended so he can have some outdoor time in between his walks and outings. He will require a lot of daily exercise and outdoor playtime to keep him happy and healthy!

His adopters must be able to provide him with lots of exposure to new people, dogs and situations in order to make him a social and friendly dog. He loves being close to his foster family and follows them around the house. Beau is sharing his foster home with other friendly dogs and a cat and he really enjoys the company. We feel he would do well sharing his home with another friendly dog.

Beau has been dewormed and microchipped. He has had his first booster vaccine. Beau will requires two more sets of vaccines after the first set. A reminder that until he is fully vaccinated in about three months time he is vulnerable and should not be exposed to a lot of strange dogs.

Our adoption process includes an online application, telephone interview, home visit (virtual or in person), reference checks and a meeting with the dog. Our adoption contract for puppies is a “foster to adopt” contract.

An adoption fee of $500.00 applies. We will also charge a neuter deposit ($200.00) that will be returned once Beau has been neutered by his adopters. A permanent contract will be signed once he is neutered.
