Meet Bear

Bear is approximately 5 years old. In his previous home he was an outside dog and lived with a small and medium sized dog. He has a calm demeanour and is a medium energy dog. He loves a kiddie pool on warm days.

He's a large boy and currently weighs 117 pounds. Bear has been on a very reduced kibble feed twice a day in hopes he sheds a few pounds. He's the size of a St. Bernard with Shepherd fur.

I'm looking for a nice home environment that has a secure fenced yard for outside play and a nice warm bed where he will be part of a family. We aren't sure if he's housetrained although he's never gone to the bathroom in my home.

He hasn't had any issues with people, young or old in his previous home. He played nice with the two other dogs he lived with and didn't get too rough. He will bark upon occasion but he isn't much of a barker and usually only barks if someone riles him up. He loves car rides and will just lay down and enjoy the ride. He is crate trained (jumbo crate) and will quite often go in his crate on his own for a snooze.

There are other rescue dogs in this home although none of them interact with each other. On nice days he will go into the double outdoor covered kennel with a large meat bone and is side by side with another rescue dog that is also chewing a bone. There is no fence fighting between the two dogs.

Because Bear was an outside dog he has had no training. When it's meal time, he offers a nice sit and will patiently wait until you give him his food. He's a relatively easy dog because he's calm and gentle and is not in your face bugging you. When he's in the house he's snoozing on one of the dog beds or volunteers himself into his crate.

Because he's in a rural setting he stays on the property. I would classify him as more of a guardian dog like a Pyrenees or St. Bernard.

If Bear sounds like the kind of family member that will fit into your home and lifestyle, please send me a message.
