Those EYES! Beans is an adorable, playful 5-month old lab mix who cannot wait to meet his new family! He was dropped off at a shelter, scared and underweight, and when the shelter told us they were out of room and he was out of time, we came and scooped him up. Beans went right into a foster home with adults, older children (10+) and another laid-back foster dog.

Beans loved spending time with the other foster dog and was very playful but displayed some dominant traits over the dog that required redirection. The other dog was adopted and Beans has settled down tremendously, therefore we think he may do well as an only-dog home, or at least needs a good introduction under the supervision of an experienced owner to teach him proper puppy etiquette. He displayed some slight resource guarding of his food with the other dog but not with people, and some guarding with his toys but is definitely trainable and able to be redirected (remember, he's only 5 months old!)

Beans is learning to walk on a leash and loves his walks around the neighborhood. He loves his toys and fetches tennis balls. He knows his name, knows "come", knows "sit" and is working on "wait", "drop it", and "shake." He is currently being housetrained and goes outside on a leash, does not lift his leg to mark inside or outside but does still have some accidents in the home, although little to no accidents when the leash is left on him. He barely barks, even when people come to the door. He sleeps all night long in his pen without accidents.

Beans loves to snuggle up next to you, likes to snuggle his nose into your legs and loves a good belly rub. His foster family is working on putting some meat on his bones, potty training, and puppy manners, specifically jumping up. We think Beans would do well as a spoiled only child, with adults or older children that will be able to work on his training. He loves everyone that walks in the door, and is a sweet playful pup.
