Meet Barkley!! Barkley and Elliott came into the shelter. They were skinny and full of mange. We pulled them out immediately as they were both going to be euthanized.

Barkley what and athletic boy!!! He will need a family who is entertaining and active!! He would do well with a fenced yard. Sorry about his pictures, he just wouldn't stay still, as he wanted to just keep playing with his toys. Lol!! He is a typical pup, who loves to play with his friends and give his humans lots of love!!! Barkley will watch football with you on football days as well, once he gets a good workout. They were both named after football players!!! They will need to learn with their families. They will need obedience training, someone who will be home with them and not leave them more than 3 hrs a day. We take puppies very seriously and will not adopt to anyone who is not willing to go to training and socialize them properly. Also, we know the holidays are right around the corner, and people will be looking for presents. Our dogs and puppies will not be presents of any kind. Please know we have strict guidelines that we will follow during our interviewing process regarding this matter.

Unless otherwise indicated, all dogs adopted through Fetching Hearts have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (Kennel Cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming, Microchip, Flea and Tick Prevention and Heartworm Prevention.

Spay/Neuter
All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

VETTING NOTE: Fetching Hearts Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward.

HEARTWORM NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 5-6 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
