Banksy is officially ready for his next chapter with his adoptive family! He arrived to Askas Animals (AAF) from Lander Pet Connection as a 10 day old puppy, after his mom and siblings tragically passed away. He started his journey at AAF in an incubator, being fed and cleaned every 3-4 hours, and eventually graduated to being raised in Aska’s home for the last six weeks. As you can tell in the photo, Banksy's right eye has given him some troubles, but he has been checked out by the vet who has said he is very healthy, but may eventually have to lose his eye. Raising an orphaned dog is no easy task, as dogs learn so much in the first few weeks of their lives from their siblings and mom. In lieu of this structure, Aska provided a much-needed home environment for Banksy, giving him access to her dogs, and (human) family. Her hard work has paid off, and has set an incredible foundation for him: she reports he hasn't had an accident in the house in weeks, he sleeps in a crate at night, he confines well in his x-pen and he loves to play with balls and dogs and pig tails!

Thinking of adopting a puppy? Please consider the amount of time and attention that will need to be dedicated to raising a dog from puppyhood. Committing time every day to helping them to learn to love the world around them i.e. people, animals, sights, sounds, smells, objects etc is of the utmost importance to raising a well adjusted dog. Puppies that are not well socialized to the world around them can develop fear and anxiety later in life. Before considering adopting a puppy please make sure that you have the time and patience to dedicate to a puppy!

To set up a meet and greet, please fill out a dog adoption application ASAP or if you have already submitted one with us, call/email to put your name in line. We will form a line like usual based on who has an active and approved application in. Please note, Animal Adoption Center cannot guarantee the breed, composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have no history prior to them entering the rescue. We make every effort to ensure the dogs are healthy. Please know that our intention is to insure long lasting committed homes for the animals at the AAC. If we feel that an animal and a potential owner are not a good fit we reserve the right to refuse adoption.
