Meet Ava Mae

Hi!! I’m Ava Mae and I’m looking for my forever home. I’m about a year old and weight about 60lbs. My foster mom says I must be big boned because she doesn’t think I look quite that big, but I know that it is muscle from all my playtime! Here are some things you should know about me:
1. I LOOOOVVVEEEE people. I’m even pretty sure trips to the vet are just ways to meet new humans. If someone walks by me without a pet or saying hello, it kinda hurts my feelings.
2. My foster momma says I have a lot of personality. I don’t know exactly what that is supposed to mean, but I make them laugh a lot. Also, you know those people that can never hide exactly how they’re feeling in a given moment, I’m kinda like that!!! Why hide needs, wants, and feelings?!?
3. I enjoy the great outdoors and need a home with a fenced yard. I like running through the yard chasing dragonflies and their shadows, sniffing out all the new sticks and pine cones after a storm, and playing in my doggy sized pool.
4. I can play hard, but I also nap with the best of them!!!
5. There are several doggy foster brothers and sisters in my foster home. I like to play with the active ones closer to my age. I am an alpha female and they have accepted that, so we are buddies!! There’s a cat too. I used to often try and get her to be my friend. It didn’t work, so now I mostly ignore the sassy creature!
6. I’d be ok as an only child too as long as my humans like to snuggle and play fetch or tug-o-war.
7. I’m a happy girl that gets REALLY excited sometimes. My foster mom says human kids 8 and up would be best. She says I’m clumsy and might knock over young ones with my wiggle butt or wagging tail when I'm really excited!
8. I'm a young girl, but unfortunately I already have arthritis in one of my knees. I will need medicine that allows me to be mostly pain free and enjoy the things I love to do. This is another reason why any children in my forever home must be a little older. Sometimes I'm a little sore and just need some "me time." The big kids in my foster home get that!

I know my perfect family is out there and I can’t wait to meet them!!
