Ava - foster or adopt Labrador Retriever & Terrier Mix Rochester, NY

AVE is a beautiful, sweet, and shy possibly lab-terrier-hound mix who is estimated 2-4 years old and just under 50 lbs. She is super sweet and will play happily in her fenced in yard and often comes over for pets and attention from her foster. She gets along with the other dogs and with cats’ She will just need an adopter who is willing to give her the time to feel comfortable and safe in her new home, and then she will continue to blossom. She has come a long way in the last few months with leash walking - she was initially quite fearful of the leash and of taking walks around the neighborhood, where many things would startle her. Now she is taking 45-60 minute walks most days and is doing SO much better with much less anxiety out and about and is looking forward to her walks! She's a squishy, loveable dog who will make someone in a quiet home a wonderful companion. Her foster adds that she is an "easy keepers" and is a very chill and not in-your-face active dog. :)

No younger kids for Ava since kids can be scary for a dog who's already prone to be a bit nervous at first.

Adoption fee covers: all vetting to age (including deworming, deflea etc ), spay/neuter and microchip at ~6 months at our clinic, $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes, and lifetime support of rescue.

We are still doing application processing virtually since COVID-19 and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely foster-based, so there are NO DOGS KEPT AT THE SHOP.

PLEASE NOTE: If a dog is listed as Adoptable, he or she is still available at that time. Also, our adoption area is within a several hour radius of us in Rochester, NY (NOT including Canada - sorry!)
