Meet ANNIE

Annie is a purebred Australian shepherd, she is the mini version. She weighs slightly over 25 lbs.
That being said. Don't let her small size fool you. she definitely has a big dog attitude and smarter than your average dog.

Annie came to us after her original owners, who got her as a puppy a little over a year ago, realized that she was more than what their young apartment dwelling family could handle. When she started RESOURCE GUARDING from their toddler child, they made the heart wrenching, but correct decision, to turn her over to rescue.

Annie is EVERYTHING that is fantastic about the breed. She is smart, active, alert, tenacious, learns new behaviors within minutes, is devoted to her people, loving affectionate and hilarious to be around. She walks well on a leash, will crate on demand but can be vocal when left alone crated.

She loves to go for car rides, hiking or playing on the beach. She and be very protective when meeting new people and new animals. And this is her downfall.

NOTE: All that being said, we do not ever forget her breeding or her past home and why she was surrendered. SHE IS A WORK IN PROGRESS AND NOT FOR EVERY DOG LOVER.

We think a home with breed specific knowledge and experience with dogs with resource guarding behaviors would be the best suited for her.

She will need continued work on her resource issues, but the good thing is we have never seen anything very serious or that can't be controlled with continued training considering she is still basically a puppy!

An active home or even a small family farm is what she would really love to have. She needs LOTS or regular exercise and opportunities to exercise her mind and release some of her energy. She bonds very easily. which is good and bad. (see above behavior). When she has bonded with her human she can be a little protective and could be a problem if she is not worked with on a regular basis.

Hanging out with her peeps and doing chores is really when she is the happiest. She enjoys everything about what makes her breed so popular. We think in the right hands this girl will continue to Blossom and be a fantastic lifelong companion.

We definitely don't recommend her for a quiet calm sedate home, bor a hime qith small children. LOL she will get bored and then cause problems.

Annie adoption fee is $750 and includes some of her genetic history. her complete vaccine history, microchipping and altered. Our adoption fees always go to help ensure that we can continue to help dogs when they need us the most.

We do recommend that people contact us first to talk about Annie to see if she will be a good fit for you home and lifestyle.
