Meet Anna

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************

We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.

Anna, 15 wk old, spayed female, yellow labrador retriever mix, 19 pounds. Anna is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up!

Anna's foster has put in the hard work and has ensured she is crate and house trained but she will undoubtedly need continued work on his house manners. Adopters should expect some potential regression with the change in her routine and structure. She will need leash training as she's been too young to really work on this.

Anna has been around kids, cats and other dogs, and has a sweet, bubbly personality. She is loving, playful and good-natured, and enjoys being with two or four legged friends. We think she would do best with another dog in the home.

While Anna has been around kids without any issue, we would typically suggest homes with kids over the age of 10yrs or those who can understand and will respect animal behavior cues. We expect this litter to be large dogs once fully grown - lab/catahoula mixes. Full grown female labradors weigh 40-50 pounds so normal caution should be exercised around very young children.

Structure and routine go long ways in establishing good house manners. For puppies this age, someone needs to be home more than they are away as crating them for long periods of time is not conducive for their developmental needs. If you work outside of the home for 6 hours or more, please specify on the application who will be with the puppy during the time you are away.

The ideal home would be one that is excited for the joys and challenges that come with raising a puppy, one who will provide training and structure. Training can be self taught or through the use of professional resources. A home that understands there is a lot of learning for a young dog and is wiling to be patient through the process.

***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
