Angel Standard Poodle & Giant Schnauzer Mix Lenoir, NC

Angel, although a heavenly pup, was surrendered by a family who couldn't manage her puppy ways. Her foster says she sheds, but regular brushing minimizes the dust bunnies.

With a guesstimated birthday in Feb. 2023, Angel weighed 39 lb at her vet visit on Dec. 16, 2023. We anticipate she'll be closer to 50 lb as an adult.

Angel is house-trained when kept on a regular schedule. She is comfy in a 48" crate overnight and when her foster must be gone. She is leash savvy but will pull. She is learning to ride in the car to go on explores with her family.

Angel gets along with the dogs in her pack and, after initial introductions, with polite dogs at our social events. She's learning appropriate greetings but should be supervised and reinforced when meeting new dogs, parallel walking initially will help her burn off excitement, so the greetings are calmer.

Angel is in a foster home with a 5-year-old people puppy and is gentle with her.

Angel is a happy, enthusiastic celestial girl, and would love to play in the clouds with her new family.

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

For adult dogs, our adoption fee covers a standard canine vaccine, a rabies vaccine, and deworming if recommended by our vet. Adult dogs will also have current heartworm test. For puppies over the age of 14 weeks, our adoption fee covers the first 3 puppy vaccines. If the puppy is still in our care at 16 weeks, we will also provide the rabies vaccine.

A vet reference is required only if you are adopting an intact dog over 6 months of age (or the age our attending veterinarian recommends for spay/neuter) to ensure future altering of the dog. A refundable spay/neuter deposit is required for intact dogs/puppies.

Open Adoption Events for Foster Dogs are held on most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Open Adoption Events for Bunch Anderson Shelter Dogs are held every Saturday from noon-4:00 p.m. Please check our FB page for changes in Adoption Event Schedules.

A scheduled Meet & Greet between Adoption Events may be possible by sending an e-mail to: info@foothillscaninerescue.org. We do not hold dogs. Fees are required in cash at Tractor Supply.
