Meet Ames

Animal Profile: Ames is an approximately 1-year-old, 40 lb neutered cattle dog mix that joined us from New Mexico on 12/4. The shelter there says he is good with dogs and kids.

Foster Update: Ames is a shy at first but incredibly loyal pup who loves to play tug and fetch when he's not snoozing the day away. This handsome boy has a playful yet gentle demeanor and is good with other dogs - Ames must have a home with a balanced confident dog sibling to help show him that the world isn't scary. Ames would benefit from a confident adopter who knows how to help him build his confidence -- coddling his insecurities will only amplify them, so he needs firm upbeat leadership. As soon as he gets comfortable, his friendliness and curiosity know no bounds. Ames is food motivated and a fast learner, picking up on commands like sit, lie down, touch, spin, and shake. He's a Velcro dog filled with endless love for his chosen humans and is ready to share that love with his new family.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
