Meet Leah (Paws in Prison Participant)
Leah was found roaming the streets of Little Rock and thankfully taken in by a local vet. Like so many dogs found alone, nobody appears to be searching for her. And we’re not sure why. She's a special lady pup - spunky, fun and with abundant loyalty and love for her caretakers. Have you ever heard someone mention the gratefulness of a rescue dog? They were describing Leah. She is a very happy soul and eager to please her human. And, as a bonus, she is a canine doorbell cam assistant. She can hear someone outside and alert you (then if you let the person in, she will happily greet them!)
Leah is currently enrolled in the AR Dept. Of Corrections Paws in Prison Program, and will graduate January 10. .
The dogs in this program are trained under the AKC Canine Good Citizen standards and are specifically selected to be family and companion dogs. They spend 24 hours a day with their trainers. For that reason, they will do best in homes where they are primarily inside dogs and spend lots of time with their families. The adoptive family will receive his training journal. This journal documents everything from his entering the facility, his daily training progress, and interactions with his trainers. An adoption will require a completed online application found at LastChanceAR.org. Adoption fee $250, includes all the usual LCA vetting - spay, vaccinations, Bordetella, and microchip.
