Alvin Beagle Paramus, NJ

Alvin is approximately a 10-year-old roly-poly male beagle. He recently arrived from a high kill shelter in North Carolina. Alvin lived his entire life in an outdoor cement run. Thankfully he had a dog house for shelter and was given treats everyday (hence his size). His owner became too old to go out and feed him everyday, so she brought him to the shelter to be euthanized.
The shelter manager informed her that he would be going to a rescue instead of euthanasia. Upon asking for his name the owner refused to provide the shelter with that information. So Alvin it is for now!

He is small in size and fully grown. Alvin is very sweet and loves to be at your side. He gets along with dogs, cats and kids. He is learning how to walk on a leash. And because of his age you don't have to worry about him chewing. He will sleep in a crate at night but it's not necessary. Alvin is not a barker. Unfortunately we were not able to get him neutered before he came to New Jersey, therefore he does have a tendency to mark a little bit. The rescue will be paying to get Alvin his blood work, neutered and dental work by our veterinarian.

Alvin is so glad to have a roof over his head and a warm bed to sleep in. We are hoping someone will open their heart and home to this roly-poly beagle!
