Meet Alexander: Not At the Shelter
Senior hound Alexander settled into his foster home quite easily, enjoying extra meals and extra rations daily so that he is now pumped and plumped up and has managed to make his mark in the world by becoming even more laid-back and happy. Alexander is probably about 10 years old, and we think he's had a pretty fulfilling life, although it most likely was not been an easy one. Hunting dogs enjoy their freedom, but unfortunately not all get the care that they need to live long lives without health issues. Alexander is being treated with the "slow-kill method" of heartworm treatment after he was diagnosed last year with that, plus two tick-borne diseases. He has gained about 8 pounds since arriving at his foster home. Alexander enjoys being with a pack of other dogs, including females and males, hounds and a beagle included. His foster mom says he is happy and appreciative of everything she gives him. We are looking forward to helping him continue his journey to good health!
