Meet Alaska - LOVES to Play and Have Fun!

Happy, happy, joy, joy—this is the best way to describe Miss Alaska’s personality. This young Great Pyrenees girl didn’t have a great start in life but she isn’t looking back—the sky is the limit! Alaska has a way about her that one can’t help but love...especially after seeing her face with that inviting smile and contagious, positive attitude. She is very respectful of everything asked of her—grooming, keeping her kennel clean, riding in the car, going in her kennel when asked. She had never been on a leash, so will need a person(s) willing to take her for consistent walks to continue her training. If we had to give Alaska a theme song it would be “girls just want to have fun” :) She loves, loves, loves to play and will do everything in her power to entice even the grumpiest dogs to play while somehow managing to respect their space. No worries, because she loves to play with people equally. She greets her human every morning by running up, bowing down and giving her a look inviting play. Cats are a no for this girl but older children are a yes! Alaska needs a home with a family who will appreciate her zest for life, the time and desire to play and continue her training, a large fenced yard, a playful dog would be a bonus but not required for the right family—are you the active, fun family Alaska is waiting for?

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
