Abe Labrador Retriever Darlington, SC

Abe was brought in as an owner surrender along with Pearl. Can no longer care for them. He is very sweet but nervous. He became very playful when he warmed up to us during his intake. He does not walk well on a leash and is HW Negative. lab mix; 1.5 yrs old; 39lbs; 2/23

March 28 update: What a handsome, cute, mid sized guy and did we mention his high cuddle factor? If you're in the "loop" then you know all the chatter is about our labby mix ABE who is sweet as sweet gets. Abe was just a wee bit reserved when we first let him loose in our play yard but in no time, he was happily running around and looking for ways to get in on the action! He was first drawn to Shannon (beagle mix) who was in the adjoining pen and you should have seen the huge smile and waggy tail as he communicated with her that SHE was the one for HIM! Together, they ran and played and ran and played. Next stop we tested him with male dogs and by far his best friend in this category was larger shepard mix Bambi. The two of them ran and wrestled and just had a blast. They did tire each other out and how rewarding it was to see them stretched out side by side sunning and just enjoying each other's company. Abe is great on the leash and would be a great caretaker for kids and really folks of most ages. Kissy, huggy and social, when you meet Abe, you too will wish to tap your lap and invite him to come on over and give you some lovin! What a fun, happy guy.
