Meet Working Cat: Indoor shop cat (feral)
Alley Cat Project rescues feral cats, primarily through "TNR" (Trap-Neuter-Return). Occasionally, the feral cats cannot be returned to the site where they were previously living and must be relocated.
We prefer that they go to indoor-only "mouser" type of working homes like warehouses, large shops, Industrial settings, etc., where they can perform an organic rodent control service for you, without being exposed to hazards outdoors. We have placed many cats in settings of this type with great success.
The cats will typically be very shy and seldom seen at first. They may gain trust and confidence over time and become more friendly. Typically, they hide during the day and come out at night to patrol for rodents.
They are not aggressive, unless cornered and force to be handled against their will.
They use litter boxes. They are very little trouble.
Do you have a work setting as described above, where these "working cats" can have a home? If you do, please respond to this posting with a little bit of information about where you are located, and what the setting/situation there is like.
Thank you!
