Meet Winnie
Winnie is one of the infamous Waterbury22. She and her housemates came to our shelter after being dumped outside Waterbury Animal Control in the snow, in freezing temperatures, covered in their own excrement.
After a couple of months in foster care where she was given proper vet care, good food, and some much needed TLC, Winnie is ready for her forever home. She has lived with many other cats, and gets along fine with them. Winnie is a sassy but sweet girl who is learning to enjoy pets and chin rubs. She would be best suited for a home with adults or kids 12+ and at least one other kitty. NO dogs for Winnie!
When first rescued, Winnie was suffering from a single mammary tumor. Mammary tumors in cats are almost always malignant, as was the case for Winnie. Her tumor was removed and biopsy showed it was a low grade cancer.
Thankfully, the biopsy also showed that Winnie's veterinarian was able to get clean margins! We cannot guarantee her cancer will not return, but Winnie's chest x-rays are clear and she looks wonderful. We know the right person is out there who will give Winnie the best life ever for as long as possible.
Winnie is about 2-3 years old. She is now spayed, vaccinated, tested FeLV/FIV negative, and is microchipped. Winnie is current on flea/tick prevention.
To meet her, please visit our website www.HalfwayHomeRescue.org and submit an adoption application. Adoption donation $250.
