Whisper Ragdoll Mix Lawrenceville, GA

This is Whisper. The first photo shows what she looks like now and the remaining photos were taken the week she came to us last fall. Whisper is an adult kitty, a Ragdoll mix we believe, and she is approximately five years old. She came to us from a local shelter after being found as a stray. Aside from her horrifically emaciated body condition she also had open wounds on her tail, legs and feet indicating that she had been sitting in urine and feces for an extended period of time. After extensive medical testing including an ultrasound and bloodwork, Whisper has been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. This is a a chronic autoimmune disorder and it’s likely she will deal with it for the rest of her life. Whisper’s current course of treatment is a low dose of prednisone and a strict diet consisting of prescription food. She still has sporadic loose stools but she is gaining weight steadily and feeling so much better. Over the past few months, Whisper has nearly doubled in weight and as you can see, her coat is growing in beautifully. Her eyes are bright and she is a happy, loving girl. Whisper will be a special needs kitty for the rest of her life so whoever adopts her needs to be able to care for her physically as well as financially. She gets along fine with other animals but because she cannot share their food AT ALL due to her medical issues she may do best as an only pet.
