Health
Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered, special needs. Trooper came to SMART Paws after he was brought into a vet as a baby to be euthanized after being hit by a car. The vet thought he had a chance and decided to contact us. It was known that Trooper had a fractured pelvis at the time, but since he was so little, it was decided that we should wait to see if it would heal on its own before looking into surgery when he got older. However, within a month, his pelvis had closed in to the point where it obstructed his ability to defecate. He had to have two emergency surgeries to remove the obstruction. At that point, he was taken to a surgery center to have his pelvis repaired. After having a pin placed in, he seemed to be doing quite well. However, he obstructed again. It was discovered that his colon had stretched so much, that he had to have quite a bit of his large intestine also removed. Despite all the surgeries, Trooper has grown into a handsome, tall, and lithe fellow. While he needs a high quality diet that is rich in moisture, he is highly adoptable. Trooper gets along with the other cats and kittens in the home, but he would love a place where there are maybe only one or two other cats at most. Trooper loves to play and is a very sweet boy. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, tested negative for feline leukemia/aids, and given parasite prevention. Trooper's adoption fee is $75.
Good in a home with
