Tangerine* Domestic Short Hair Allegan, MI

Tangerine was originally brought into Wishbone’s care as a friendly stray cat. We suspect she lost her ears to frostbite, so were happy to take her inside and keep her safe! She was adopted, but returned after a couple months because she wasn’t getting along with their other kitty. Our medical team estimates she is ~8 years old.

Tangerine was so depressed at the shelter, so we are so grateful she is in foster in a calm, loving home without other pets. Here’s what her fantastic foster has to say:

“Tangerine is doing *so* well! She is happy and healthy and seems really settled here now that it’s been a few months. She loves to play with feather and string toys and follow me around the apartment wherever I go to give me snuggles and full body rubs. She’s become more and more accepting of pets and touch. She still prefers not to be picked up and doesn’t like anyone touching her paws.“

She is also working on acclimating her to car rides, and so far she’s a good little passenger who meows a couple times then quickly settles.
