Meet ** COURTESY POST ** Milo + Louis

** Please note: these cats are not at our facility or in our adoption program but they are looking for a loving forever home. **

Here's what their current owner has to say about them:

"I adopted Milo back in early 2018. He was always the sweetest cat I've ever met. He is very affectionate and friendly to anyone he meets. I've never met a cat run to the door whenever a guest arrives to my home. I've had others call him the "dog-cat" for that reason.

That friendliest was especially prevalent when we adopted our second kitten Louis in 2019. Within a day or so, Milo and Louis had already bonded and became brothers the past few years.

Louis has learned to take the friendliness of Milo and is also very affectionate. He's definitely more nervous to meet new people but eventually opens up over time. He's also a lot more "fiesty" in terms of being super playful. He has that "friskiness" kittens are known for - not in a mean way - just very playful.

They both love the company of others and receiving attention from them. They will play fight, cuddle, groom each other, and have such a loving bond to one another.

Later in 2019 we also decided to adopt our first puppy. For the first couple of years, the cats and our dog seemed to be pretty amicable to one another. At times they could even lie together. We never noticed any major issues until our dog got a little older and began showing aggression towards the cats.

We attempted everything we could to resolve it, but eventually it led to an episode where that aggression led to our dog attacking the cats (no serious injuries whatsoever don't worry), and eventually us.

Our veterinary behavioral specialist informed us that our dog is very timid and begun to associate discomfort with the cats, and this led him to become aggressive around them. Any attempt we made to get them to become comfortable together again just wasn't working.

Because of the situation we were in, for our safety and the safety of the cats we had to keep them in the basement while we attempted to figure something out. We love our cats unconditionally, and it's been emotionally draining knowing we need to keep them away and separate from the rest of the house recently due to our dog's behavior.

After taking as long as we could to attempt to figure out a way to make it work, we ultimately came to the decision that the cats need a home they can be free in, and with owners who can give them all the love and attention they deserve. Knowing they are away from us due to them being unsafe is just so unfair to them.

Ultimately, we want them to stay together and be with owners who can give them the attention and space they deserve in life. One where they aren't fearing for their safety. They are the best cats I've ever met - and there's no bias in saying that - so hopefully they can brighten someone else's life like they have mine and my wife's."

Milo is 6 years old going on 7 next month and Louis just turned 4 years old. Both boys are neutered.
