Hi- we are Skip and Cody. I’m Skip and I have the black face, and my kitten brother, Cody, has the white face. We are just shy of a year old now. We had been living in foster care as we needed some help “socializing (whatever that means?)…. and are now back at the shelter. All I know is we were born outside, mama wasn’t around any more, and we were absolutely terrified of humans and everything made us scared. It’s been allot of work getting used to humans, and we are still working on that. We are definitely still skittish, but I know that once we feel safe and can calm down, we’ll do so much better. In foster care we had a really nice room, and at the shelter we have a big kennel and outdoor catio, but we’d love to have a home where we can have free roam of our permanent home. In the meantime, the staff and volunteers keeps working with us and playing with us and patting us, to help us get over our fear!
We are kittens and we are very active -my brother, Cody, is quite the jumper, and I am definitely a hunter (and besides toys I hunt, I could a good mouser). We both LOVE chasing the laser pointer and catnip. We are better staying together, as we love to play together and sleep together. Because we are so skittish we might do better in a house without larger animals or kids. We will need someone who will have patience and will continue to help us feel safe and secure. We are neutered and we have all our vaccinations we need for now, so we are so ready to have a home of our own together!

OK Skip and Cody, our turn…. . They so deserve a loving forever home of their own together!! They have been through allot of trauma, on their own for a while and terrified of humans. We don’t know what happened to them or their history, and we don’t know of other things happened to them before they got to us, that makes them extra skiddish. Hopefully no one caused extra trauma to them out on their own. They are still young and can be worked with to earn trust and make them comfortable and secure…then their true personality will come out. Until then, they are still afraid. So we need a patient person /home that is willing to still work with them lovingly and give them time to blossom. They are a blast to watch play and they can be touched, patted! Currently, visits to the shelter are by appointment only for approved applications, so please fill out an online application, then email it into us at petrefuge@verizon.net. Or, if you prefer, you can print it out on paper, fill it out, and drop it off. The manager will be in touch with you about an appointment for a visit, once your application has been approved.
