Meet Simon Peter
Simon Peter came to our shelter after his veterinary team saved his life. Simon had suffered a urinary blockage and his previous owner rushed him to the hospital. She paid for the surgery but then decided she was not willing to manage his long term care (i.e. feeding a prescription diet and keeping him indoors). She requested euthanasia and our veterinarian refused.
Unfortunately, Simon's urinary issues were quite advanced. After blocking for a second time, it was determined that Simon needed PU (perineal urethrostomy) surgery to save his life. After a strenuous month long recovery, Simon is ready for a forever family.
To keep him at his healthiest, Simon should remain on a prescription urinary friendly diet. The food is cost comparable to any good quality cat food and can be purchased from your vet or online with a veterinary prescription.
Simon is about 4 years old. He is neutered , vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped, feline leukemia/FIV negative, and is current on flea/tick preventative. He is an AMAZING cat and would be the perfect couch buddy. He gets along fine with other kitties in his foster home but needs a home without dogs. No small kids for Simon.
