Meet Simon

Part of the adoption process involves matching potential adopters with the right cats. Three-year-old Simon has enough personality quirks for a whole houseful of cats. To begin, he is affectionate and craves attention to the point of being clingy. He follows his foster mom from room to room, hops on her lap while she's on the computer, and sleeps with her. Surely such a cat wants lots of petting, right? Uh, no, Simon gets overstimulated from petting rather quickly, so he only wants it in small doses, and only under his chin and on his face-- never below the neck. He also wants to play almost every waking moment, so his best option would be a home with several people who are willing and able to give him the playtime he craves. Because he can play a bit rough at times, he would not be right for a home with small children or with an adopter who will have children in the future. Simon also has almost no sense of boundary. He'll hop on the counter, into the dishwasher, onto the keyboard, you name it.

With all this, though, is a cat who has a heart of gold. While he's not the right cat for most adopters, he'll be perfect for someone out there who can accept these quirks and embrace them, preferably someone who is experienced with cats.

He has been:
- neutered
- vaccinated against rabies and distemper
- tested negative for FeLV and FIV*
- treated for worms and fleas

His adopter will receive his medical records. There is a simple adoption process and an adoption fee so we can continue to help cats in need. In Simon's case, that fee has been discounted by about half to a mere $95-- a bargain for a new best friend who'll love you for the rest of his life. He's being fostered in the Allston.

Cats can live up to 20 years, so give careful thought to the changes that are likely to occur in your life during that time. If you can and will commit to him and provide a safe, loving home for life, then respond to RoyCBarrows@gmail.com. Please include your phone number for a faster response and say a little about yourself and the home you would provide for him as we try to match people with the right cats.

Due to COVID 19, in lieu of in-person meetings and for the safety of all concerned, fosters are supplying short video clips of the cats to potential adopters and/or connecting via video app, and adopters are making their adoption decisions based on that. This has actually streamlined the adoption process and has been going very well.
