Meet Sherlock
This sweet guy was rescued from a high kill shelter after he was left behind because the rescue who took his siblings didn't "want to deal with a blind kitten" so the shelter contacted us and we agreed to take him.
He has grown into a beautiful, sweet boy who was born blind with deformed eyes and had to undergo a double eye removal so that he would be more comfortable and not have ongoing eye infections. His foster mom says this about him.
Foster meowy-mom says I am beautiful with exquisite markings (she says I remind her of a cowboy with my gorgeous tan saddle, white chaps and Ralph Lauren elbow patches!)
I'm a sweet and gentle little kitty (13mos) who loves to play and snuggle - and although I do not act like it, I am blind - but I navigate perfectly.
I'm a quiet boy - I rarely talk and only if you listen carefully will you hear a little chirp from me . Foster mom thinks my unique meow is so endearing - along the way I do my 'zoomies' around the room - or jump in the air to catch my toy!
When foster mom walks by I paw her for a nuzzle, (sometimes when she pets me, I'll do a summersault or fall on my side) - I often follow her around - and always want to sit on her lap, nuzzling or head bumping or making biscuits.
My litter box manners are immaculate , and I use my scratching post nicely, always sharing it with my foster buddies - I really am the perfect companion!
My world may at first seem different from yours but that will not stop me from brightening your day and making you smile - special smiles
and if you give me the chance, I will prove to you that love is indeed blind!!
