Meet Shamrock (no new applications please)

Beautiful Shamrock and her story will melt your heart. She is an 8 year old DLH whose owner died suddenly. Shamrock and her friend Missy cat came into our rescue after a friend of the owner contacted us. Shamrock missed her owner very much and mourned her loss. She would not eat and seemed depressed even in foster care. With lots of loving care, she has come out of her shell. We now believe she is ready to find her new forever home!
Shamrock is extremely gentle and sweet. She will stand on her back legs to be petted, and enjoys combing. She will need continued brushing, as her fur was matted when she came into rescue. She is not a playful toy cat, but definitely loves attention from her people! She seems fine around respectful dogs and other cats, and I think she would be fine with respectful kids.
Shamrock has recently had senior lab tests, and a dental cleaning. She needed several teeth extracted, and is now ready to be your little Shamrock! Her FeLV/FIV test is negative, she is current on vaccines and is spayed and microchipped. She may require portion controlled feedings, as she was obese when she came to us.
Shamrock would love to be adopted with her special needs friend Missy. Missy is still undergoing veterinary care, and is a gorgeous calico DLH. They get along very well, but we do not think it will be detrimental to their emotional or physical health to adopt them out separately.
-Please head to our website to fill out an application prior to sending an inquiry or asking to set up a meeting. (See application at https://www.nwac-oregon.org/cat-application). Once your adoption application is approved we will contact you to put you in touch with the foster family to ask any questions, set up an online meeting, or to set up a masked in person meet. If you submit an inquiry instead of an application, this will delay the process and increase the chance someone else will meet YOUR dream cat before you do! If we get an inquiry, we will ask you to fill out an application before we respond to questions.
-The $140 adoption fee Includes spay/neuter, microchip, de-worming, current flea treatment, current vaccines for their age, and a vet exam. Unless otherwise noted, they have also had a negative test for FIV and FeLV. Northwest Animal Companions is an all-volunteer, non-profit foster-home based rescue. 100% of your adoption fee goes to provide for the medical and physical needs of the pets in our care.
Please consider adding a donation to your adoption fee, as the demand for rescues to intake cats has never been greater. Please let us know if you would be interested in fostering for us too!
