Meet Scout
We suspect Scout has Cerebellar Hypoplasia. We do know that besides the funny way she moves around, there are currently no other signs of health concerns. Scout has been examined from head to tail with x-ray and bloodwork and by all accounts she appears quite healthy.
Whether or not Scout is called "special needs" she definitely requires a special adopter. Her adopter may need to provide easier access to necessities than other fully agile cats. She tends toward caution in new activities and will thrive with a gentle hand and playmates. Even though Scout may wobble when she walks, she is not really much different than any other cat. She uses the litter box and gets around just fine!
Besides all this, Scout is gentle, playful, quick to purr and has been a perfect house guest. Her favorite way to snuggle is giving bumps and nestling up against you. She likes having her belly rubbed but her favorite is back scratches. She is content to cuddle in your lap as long as she feels safe being off the ground, she likes to feel secure, and she has come a long way learning there is security in being held by humans. Toys are still a novelty to Scout. She will run, hop, pounce, wiggle, chase and if she stumbles she will just plop herself down like ahe meant to do that. She is a happy girl and so lucky to have the opportunity to find her perfect home.
