Meet ROMEOW
AGE: 5 - 7 years
DESCRIPTION: DSH - White & Red Tabby
LOCATION: Foster Home
MY STORY:
Romeow was found living on the streets and with his sweet easy going purrsonality was getting beat up by other tomcats defending their territory. He was dirty and skinny and had quite a nasty upper respiratory infection (URI). Fortunately he found his way to us and was placed in a foster home to gain some weight, get over the URI, and to just generally enjoy a safe and loving environment for a change.
Romeow is definitely a people kind of cat and would be around humans every one of his waking moments....and even his non-waking moments. His favorite things beside humans is food, being cuddled, playing with all his new found toys (especially his carrot!), and sleeping in an empty washer (of all places!) He was so thin when he first arrived that he looked sort of comical with his big ole round tomcat head, earning him the nickname of Pumpkinhead. His body has now filled out making his head seem not so out of scale and he has gotten over the URI. His foster mom says he does well with children and with other kitties after a proper and patient introduction period. She does not know about dogs but with his chill purrsonality and nice dogs it should be fine. Romeow has the most unique coat of red tabby on the top of his head and tail with lots of bright white everywhere else.
Romeow has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which is a slow virus that affects a cat’s immune system over a period of years. FIV cats most often live long, healthy, and relatively normal lives with few or no symptoms. FIV is not easily passed between cats and cannot be spread casually, like in litter boxes, water or food bowls, or when snuggling and playing. A cat in a home is extremely unlikely to infect other cats, if properly introduced and it cannot be passed to dogs or to humans. FIV-positive cats require no special medication or additional care beyond the diligence used in caring for any cat. We have him listed as special needs only to reflect that he is + for FIV.
MORE DETAILS:
Inside-only home and must keep claws. The adoption fee for this kitty is $100. Adopt a pair of kitties for $150. Each cat and kitten has been: altered (spayed/neutered), vaccinated (age-appropriate) - rabies and distemper combo, microchipped, tested for FeLV (negative unless previously noted), and treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms.
We ask that interested parties fill out a cat adoption questionnaire only if you are seriously considering adopting this sweet kitty. You can get the application by going to our website at "http://www.panorapets.com/adopt"
and clicking on the "Cat Adoption Questionnaire" button at the top of the page. Once you have submitted the questionnaire, an adoption coordinator will contact you usually within 24 hours. Please be patient and thank you for your interest in this kitty.
P.E.T.S. supports the "Paws Need Claws" Campaign. Cats are rather attached to their claws; please do not de-claw your cats.
