Romeo Domestic Short Hair Urbana, OH

A local man discovered approximately thirty cats living in a barn on an elderly family member's property. Since that time, he has been working with a local TNR (Trap, Neuter and Return) team to help test, spay, and neuter the group! The TNR team recently captured six of the cats and took them to a local veterinarian. It was decided that two of the kittens needed extra care and should not be returned to the barn. Paws Animal Shelter agreed to take the kittens, now named Romeo and Juliet. They were about six months old when we took them in and definitely underweight. Romeo was 4.5 pounds and Juliet was only 2.9 pounds - they should have weighed around 6 pounds each. They were also covered in fleas when they first came under PAWS' care. Although Romeo and Juliet were a little scared and hiding in their litter boxes at first, they settled in quickly. Romeo is now out in one of our free-roam kitten rooms, and is having a blast! He is super playful and adventurous and as cute as a button! Petfinder always makes recommendations for breed based on photos, and they suggested he's part Abyssinian. Clearly we don't know his mom or dad, so we just put DSH!
He'd be a wonderful addition to any family.
