Meet Ringo (Special Needs - Asthmatic)

Hello, my furiends! This fluffy guy here, he's Ringo! You wouldn't believe how this malnourished, messy, matted furball looked when he was rescued off the mean streets of Rhode Island - but boy, oh boy, look at this handsome chunka hunka cat right here! Ringo is only 2 years and 10 months old. While we love having this kitty greet us daily at the shelter, we cannot believe he has spent the last two years there, and we would love it even more if he were in his furever home. He is a silly kitty, a fluffernutter with a goofy grin and a genuine love of feather wand toys! His long fur will need a bit of brushing to keep him soft and shiny. Ringo is initially timid, but toys and treats will have him jumping and dancing for attention in no time.

Ringo has a bestie at Scruffy, and that's Evie. Evie was rescued around the same time as Ringo. They are unrelated, but they sure did fancy one another and have lived together ever since. Ringo is not required to be adopted with Evie, but we would love to keep them together if possible. Ringo will need a home with a people-confident cat. He enjoys playing with his sheltermates, and another friendly cat in the home is excellent for his cat-fidence skills.

Ringo has developed asthma, which he will have his entire life. He will require the use of an inhaler mask. Feline Asthma is caused by inhaled allergens or irritants like dust, smoke, fragrances, and aerosol sprays; because of this, he requires particular respiratory relief litter. His new home and family will need to ensure that they take the necessary steps to reduce those potential irritants. It may seem like a lot, but Ringo is worth it. He will reward you with lots of love! We are happy to assist you with any concerns or questions regarding Ringo's inhaler and needs.

Thank you for being so interested in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If you see this post, we still accept applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). Please refrain from emailing us regarding availability.

All adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies and distemper vaccinations, proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing, flea treatment, deworming, and an exam by a licensed veterinarian.

Our shelter hours are by appointment only and are not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are located in foster homes. An adoption application MUST be submitted and approved before meeting our cats/kittens. We do this for the safety of our fosters and potential adopters.

Our adoption process includes the following:

4. Home Visit
Please make sure you are located in our vicinity. We are based in Warwick, RI. Due to COVID-19, we are conducting virtual home visits until further notice.

**Please note: Our volunteers try their hardest to contact every applicant in a timely manner but are often overwhelmed with a high volume of applications. Please allow up to two weeks for a response. We ask you to please be considerate and refrain from sending multiple follow-up emails or submitting duplicate applications.
