Rhode Domestic Short Hair Wahpeton, ND

Rhode is a neutered male, shorthaired, black and white tuxedo cat who was born sometime in 2022. At the end of January 2024, we received a call from a kind Samaritan who said there was a cat living in the storm drain beside the Rodeway Inn in Wahpeton, ND. We set up a humane trap and caught him. He's named Rhode after where he was found xD His future owner(s) can change his name; he doesn't know it. We gave Rhode a bath and he purred THE ENTIRE TIME. The next day, we gave a bed to Rhode, and he thinks it's the BEST THING! xD

Rhode is ONE OF THE SWEETEST CATS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!! ♥ The joke is that we can't sit down with him in our laps cause we won't be able to get back up, lol! ;) He just wants to cuddle, cuddle, and cuddle some more! ♥ He likes to play with string toys too, but all he really wants to do is cuddle :) ♥

Rhode has a wonky ear. It's either been frostbitten and we're waiting for the tip to fall off, or he has a hematoma. This doesn't bother him; it gives him more character, lol :)

He's litter box trained, but he MUST HAVE a covered litter box! He doesn't spray; he just pees over the edge of rectangular litter boxes that don't have covers.
3-22-2024 Update: Rhode likes to poop outside the litter box. We don't know why.
4-10-2024 Update: The vet prescribed Amitriptyline for Rhode. We're hoping this helps him to stop pooping outside the litter box.

Rhode is compatible with all adults and children. He tolerates being around other cats. He wasn't too fond of Meryl and Robert, but he's too docile to start a fight with other cats. He just wanders off to the cat tree and sits on that perch to get away from the other cats. He gets along well with cats like Sunshine, cause she just ignores Rhode and does her own thing.

We would like Rhode to be adopted by a person or family that doesn't have any other pets at home. He tolerates cats, but didn't really like being around other cats. He dislikes dogs.

He's currently eating Royal Canin Urinary SO Plus Calm dry cat food mixed with a little bit of paté canned cat food. He doesn't have any urinary issues; this food is prevention of her having a UTI or urinary crystals. Plus, the calming factor in the food helps the cats have less stress while living in cages until they're adopted.

Rhode has been neutered and microchipped. He tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, tested negative twice in a row for ringworm, is up-to-date on his vaccines, is up-to-date on Selarid (flea, heartworm, hookworm, roundworm, and ear mite preventative), and has been dewormed.

Rhode's adoption fee is $100.00. If you're currently renting, we require a letter from your landlord stating that you may have Rhode where you live.
