Meet Raines
Feisty felines float your boat? “Princess” Raines will keep you on your toes! Raines combines the stunning looks of a tabby Maine Coon with an outsized personality. This cat, with a magnificent long fluffy coat and enormous chocolate brown mitts, has mastered the art of the appraising look. It is quite clear that she was one of those kittens adopted for their beautiful appearance alone without consideration of their suitability for the family, since she was abandoned with a note that informed us that she was a poor fit with other cats and children. That assessment was not very far off. When Raines arrived at STAF, any approaching hand was a target for her wicked swipe. However, with hard work from our awesome “Care Corps” team, Raines is no longer defensive and has truly come a long way. She now enjoys adult people and purrs when petted, although she will tell you in no uncertain terms that her belly is off limits and she informs you when cuddle time is over. She is definitely in charge! If you are up for a challenge and don’t mind a cat who puts you in your place, Raines would make an entertaining companion—and she ain’t bad to look at either!
