Meet ~Popeye~ Courtesy Posting

Popeye is a 7 year old, orange tabby with white, domestic short-haired, neutered male cat born mid-September 2013. Popeye has lived with children his entire life. However, he needed to be removed from his most recent home because a young child was not treating him kindly by locking him in a closet and not respecting Popeye's personal space. Despite this treatment, Popeye is a sweet, generous chunk of burning love who seeks attention from people that he trusts. Popeye is a big boy at 17.5 pounds and is currently on a weight management dry kibble food. Excellent and well-behaved with children, even those not well behaved or supervised properly.

Popeye has lived with another cat but would prefer to be the only cat in the household. Popeye has lived in a home with dogs but not recently. With a slow and proper introduction, Popeye should adapt to a home with a dog.

Popeye had a thorough vet examination on Aug. 2, 2021, that included blood work and updating his rabies vaccination. From his previous medical history, Popeye had sustained a broken right hip when he escaped from the home and crossed the street into a yard of a neighbor who didn't like cats. The neighbor claimed Popeye was hit by a car, but the emergency veterinarian believed that Popeye's injuries were more consistent with being kicked or thrown.

Currently, Popeye is safe in a foster home. Several humans have failed to protect or have mistreated this cat. Popeye is deserving of a home with humans committed to his care and treating him like royalty. Popeye has transitioned through several homes and will need a patient adopter to allow time for him to relax and feel comfortable, but the reward will be worth its hefty weight in ginger cat gold.

Vet reference required and will be checked. Current on vaccinations, FeLV and FIV negative when tested as a kitten, litter box trained, and will be microchipped before adoption.

Popeye is not an official Adopt A Pet cat but a courtesy posting as we are assisting in finding him a safe and suitable home. Re-homing fee. Located in Fargo, ND. Email cats@adoptapetfm.org for more information and to arrange to meet Popeye.
