This cutie is Patrick. He had a bit of a rough start, but he's now ready for find his perfect family.

Patrick's mom was abandoned when her previous owner went to jail and she was found trying to get food at a feral cat feeding site. She was heavily pregnant, and very, very skinny. Patrick and his siblings were born in the care of a loving foster home shorty after their mom was rescued, so they have been handled since they were born. They are all sweet, loving, playful kitties who enjoy snuggles and toy time.

Patrick is basically just one little cutie pie! Look at those ears and that round little tummy. He is initially quite shy with new people, but once he relaxes he is a complete ham and he plays well with all the other kittens and with people. He's cautious about exploring and may take a bit of time to get used to new people and a new home, but he is a gentle and playful fellow that will make a fine pet.

Due to the mom's poor condition when she was rescued, the kittens got kitty colds right as soon as they were born. This lead to them having eye infections at a young age, which caused scarring of the nasolacrimal ducts. This means that instead of the tears that the eye naturally produces being carried away from the eye via the nasolacrimal ducts as they should, they spill over the edge of the eyelid and sometimes run down the face. This doesn't require medical treatment or any special care, but it does mean that the face needs to be wiped to prevent build up of tear stains on the fur of the face. Patrick also developed an ulcer on his eye when he was young, and that has healed now. However, due to the ulcer, there is some extra vascularization across the cornea of his eye, which means that he has a bit of a haze over his eye. It it not painful and does not require any treatment at this time. It's possible that if the haze increases as he ages, eye drops may be required, but there is no way to know whether or not this will occur until it does (or doesn't). His eyeball can still see just fine, but the opacity is a little bit like having scratched lenses on your glasses; it makes it a little bit less clear to see, but the vision is only affected in a small way. You can still see a slight opacity on his right eye however, it is mostly cosmetic. If the vascularization does increase as Patrick ages, it's possible that he may lose vision in that eye, but we don't know until it happens (or doesn't.) It is not painful, and cats can do very well with compromised vision, especially if it's only in one eye.

So far, Patrick does not seem to enjoy either children or dogs. He has even been around cat-savvy, young teens and was uncomfortable. A quieter, adult-only home is likely better for him, given his somewhat timid nature.
