Meet Orchid
F - 8 months - Gray/White Domestic Shorthair -
Orchid is a spunky kitten who likes to play "tag" with her siblings and tackle them! She has a lot of energy and doesn't like to sit still for very long!
Orchid and her sibling, Aster have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (FVR), also known as feline herpesvirus. This virus causes upper respiratory disease and can cause keratitis, or inflammation of the cornea in the eyes, and conjunctivitis, which is why affected cats' eyes can look hazy and swollen.
While there is no cure for FVR, most cats can live a normal, healthy life, and respond well to therapeutic treatments if the infection flares up. Most cats are vaccinated for FVR starting when they are a kitten, however, it is a contagious disease (affecting only cats, not dogs or humans), so this litter will need to find a home together, or go to only cat homes.
