Meet Nickel (Spayed) (Special Needs: Heart Murmur) (Photos 10/30/2023)

Nickel is a beautiful 7-1/2-year old female Tuxedo kitty who was brought to the HSOV on October 29, 2023 along with several other kitties who had shared her home including Doubloon, Groucho, Quarter, and Silver Dollar. Sadly, their mistress who dearly loved them all very much had passed away recently, and there was nowhere for her beloved pets to call home.

Nickel has a gray-and-white longhaired coat, a short half tail, and a lovely face with golden eyes, a gray velvet nose, and extra-long white whiskers.

This charming girl has a sweet, rather demure, personality. Nickel loves to nestle up in soft blanket and also covered kitty beds.

Nickel was given vaccinations, Pyrantel wormer, and flea treatment on October 30, 2023. She is a tiny girl who weighed 6.3 lbs that day, so her longer fur gives her the appearance of a much larger kitty.

These photos of Nickel were taken on October 30, 2023 shortly after her intake procedures were completed.

Nickel was taken to a veterinarian clinic on November 28, 2023 for what we thought would be a routine spay procedure ... But Nickel was diagnosed with a Grade 2 Heart Murmur as a result of a SNAP Feline ProBNP Test and did not undergo the spay surgery. Nickel was given rabies vaccine while at the veterinarian clinic. She weighed 7 lbs that day.

Nickel's belly was shaved on December 11, 2023, and there was good news when a spay scar was detected .. It turns out that Nickel's previous owner had already had her spayed sometime in the past.

Nickel is being listed as a 'Special Needs Kitty' because of her heart murmur. She is looking for a quiet home with a special someone to love her and make sure she receives veterinarian care to monitor her condition.

Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.
