Meet Mittens
My name is Mittens and I am a sweet, loving black polydactyl kitten looking for my forever home. Polydactyl means "many toes". I'm also called a Hemingway cat because the author Ernest Hemingway had polydactyl cats at his estate in Key West, Fl. Hemingway was given a snow white kitten by a sea captain who considered polydactyl cats to be good luck. All cats residing at the Hemingway Estate and Museum today are descendants of Snow White and most are polydactyl!
Most cats have 18 toes but I have 22. That means an extra toe on each paw, hence the name Mittens. I love to sleep beside my foster human for a nap or during the night. I would love to find a family to call my own.Available for adoption from Kitty Kat Haven and Rescue
