Misty is a domestic short haired, brown tabby with white, female spayed cat with an estimated date of birth of early April 2016. Misty was live trapped from a local trailer park in July 2016. Initially, she was fearful of being inside a home and suspicious of humans, but she soon realized that shelter, food, water and care are constant in her foster home. Her favorite toy is the Da Bird wand toy, as that was the toy used to entice her out of hiding in the cat tree when she first arrived in her foster home. It took many months before Misty adapted to the other cats in the foster home and to the lab mix dog. Misty is pretty cat selective with other cats that she feels comfortable with as she tends to get bullied by more dominant cats. Misty does like to snuggle up to older cats and get groomed and nurtured by them, and she is very bonded to fellow foster cats Bart (aka Hershey) and Sundance. Misty is timid around new people, and still gaining confidence. Misty is not a cat for a first time cat owner as she will need a patient adopter who does not expect her to be a lap cat and is willing to accept Misty's interactions with them on her terms and time table. She has not been around young children.
Spayed; current on vaccinations; microchipped; litter box trained; and negative for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus.
