Looking for a special lady, to be your pet and companion- look no more!! My name is Maya, and I have been here at the shelter for a while. I am one of those ladies, well you know what I mean, who likes things her way! I am a young to middle-aged adult female. I enjoy petting, and getting love, but when I’ve had enough, I have had enough. I can’t talk so my way to let you know, is I give a quick little swat. But don’t get me wrong, I do really enjoy being pet, just watch for my little sign so you know when to stop. Because I don’t want to have to take a little swipe… lol! I would like a nice quiet home with a soft comfy couch, maybe a cat tree so I could look out at birds and squirrels. I do really enjoy my cat catio at the shelter, I hang out and watch birds. Because I can be a little bit temperamental, I wouldn’t want to be in a home with small children, or dogs. I think I’ll do just fine with a friendly cat, or in a home where I am the only cat. Since I’ve been at the shelter, I’ve gained a bit of weight. So I’d be looking for my new home to help me shed a few pounds, so I can be healthier. If you’re looking for a nice companion, it’s me. I really hope someone picks me and takes me to a loving patient home. Also, they told me that 2 nice ladies Gloria and Gretchen, who both love the shelter, have taken a liking to me and have offered to pay my adoption fee, when the right approved applicant comes along! .How nice is that!!

OK Maya, our turn…. . She is sweet- but on her terms. So we would want someone familiar with cats and a patient quiet home. It’s hard to say what she would be like out of the shelter, and in a loving patient home, she might be a completely different cat and even more loving. Currently, visits to the shelter are by appointment only for approved applications, so please fill out an online application, then email it into us at ShelterManager@thepetrefuge.org..
