Marin had been a stray in Hochelaga all his life before being taken to the vet for euthanasia. Marin was in urgent need of major dental treatment, and this was the reason why the people who cared for him outside asked for euthanasia. The vet refused and took Marin under her wing. After an almost complete dental extraction, Marin is doing very well! He was showing signs of a fight, so it's not surprising that Marin is a carrier of feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). For more information about FIV: https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv Despite this, he's in good health and can live a good life indoors! Marin is an 11-year-old cat (!!!), but he doesn't do them at all. He's full of life and loves people. He's vocal and will always tell us when something doesn't suit him. He's very docile and loves to be held or climb onto our laps for lots of cuddles. It really makes you wonder how such a sweet cat wasn't taken in sooner by a family in his old neighborhood. Marin is greedy and waits patiently for his meal every day. He eats urinary speciliazed food because he had crystals in his urine. Who will want to give this senior a forever home? Marin is a senior cat so the adoption fees for him are $175. He is sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped. He is positive for the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) but negative for the feline leukaemia virus (FeLV). Health insurances are offered for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the help of the adoption team as long as you need it. You will also have access, for the first month following adoption, to a 30 minutes video consultation with our cat behaviour consultant FelineGood ( https://www.felinegood.ca ).
In order to get a chance to adopt him, please fill out our adoption directly on our website: https://www.reseausecoursanimal.org/contacts/adoption-form/
