Meet Mariah! This girl got her name because she's got some PIPES. She wants to sing us the song of her people all day, every day. Even if she's only half-awake, she'll still give us a little chirp to let us know we're on her radar. Sometimes she'll start meowing before we're even in the building, if she sees us through the window.

Mariah is a total sweetheart. She just wants attention - preferably all of it, all the time. She'll roll around and flop this way and that way in her bed to make sure we're petting every inch of her. And, of course, she'll give us plenty of vocal feedback on how well we're doing. She's super difficult to get pictures of, because she either wants to be in bed or right up in our business.

At the center, Mariah doesn't like to get out and mingle (though she will cry if we don't open her door just in case she changes her mind). She's a homebody. She prefers to just snooze while the others run around and play. She isn't big on toys, but does enjoy batting at a cat teaser now and then.

We think she might be okay with one or two calm cats in a home, with a gentle introduction, but she would probably not want a kitty playmate that will pounce on her or play rough. We think she would be fine with kids, although she does not like being picked up. She has not been tested with dogs. If you want a sweet lapcat to be your bestie for life and throw you a concert every day, Mariah is your gal!

Mariah is estimated to be 2.5 years old as of February 2024. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. With an approved application, her adoption fee is $37.10.
